Overview
Montagne in Movimento is an action-research group that considers Applied Anthropology a tool for studying, involving and supporting administrations and local communities in processes of change, as well as for enhancing bottom-up processes that, for centuries, have made mountain communities authentic models for sustainable development and active citizenship.
Applied Anthropology methodologies, such as collaborative and group ethnography – which promote polyphonic and participatory narratives -, as well as deconstructive and multilevel approaches to reality, are relevant tools for MIM to involve public and private networks throughout the Italian shrinking territories. The analytic aim is to investigate and compare the complexity of these territories, bringing local needs out, eventually supporting networks of resources and opportunities.
